I think were the country is on this issue now is that the left "Accepts" them and the right "Tolerates" them. The "Gay Bashers" are getting to be a smaller and smaller group. Well, the catholic church still has its usual problems; all the evangelical groups that come readily to mind, still have their problems; southern culture, which overlaps a great deal with the second group above, still has its problems. And guess what are the more formidable groups among the further right. Which is Bush's base.
