As for Scott's stuff, I repeat, I find it mild by comparison wit Steyn and denBeste, just to name a couple; well, now that I'm at it, a bit of Kelly and a bit of Krauthammer.

How about a little self-policing on both sides? My guess is that you agree that the article didnt add much to the debate (even if it was mild), and a couple of words by you would probably mean more to Scott than the same coming from Paul.

The same is obviously true on the other side.

We've become, among other things, a poster wars thread. If we wish to become another sort of thread, then it will take a good bit of effort on all our parts.

Unfortunately, I agree that this is the case.

When was the last time someone on the thread managed to persuade somebody on the other side of the argument about anything? It's not surprising....but I think positions have measurably hardened over the last year.

Then you've clearly become inured to a very hateful level of anti-Semitism and conspiracy theories. And no, I do NOT mean criticism of Israel, I mean anti-Semitism, as in the Zionist conspiracy that controls the United States and is out to dominate the globe.
