Defense spending fell woefully behind from 1992-2000. That's ok. Bush will increase it to $500 billion a year very quickly and pay for it with your generation's retirment funds.

Behind what? It was still a larger expenditure than the rest of the world combined. A smaller defense budget is one of the advantages of peace.
