According to the "Wartime Host Nation Support" (WHNS) treaty of 1982 Germany has committed itself to supply 1700 hospital beds for US soldiers. This number is from a German source so I don't quote it but here are two related quotes: <The President expressed his great appreciation for the significant and uninterrupted German contribution to the common defense.
