RR, Pretty earth-shaking news in the SF Bay Area legal community today: sfgate.com Top S.F. dot-com law firm to close Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison grew with tech boom The local legal paper claims they have $90 million in debt from real estate acquisition and build-out, right at the top of the tech boom. Wednesday they were in merger talks (which obviously broke down), Thursday they informed their employees that the firm was closing and that folks should start packing. This firm actually advertised on CNBC within the last year. What a mess. Your message of being debt-free (not always feasible in business, but still a good thing to aim for) sure resonates. jpg
