American Spirit,

re:ICBM/North Korea

History demonstrates your lack of knowledge.

When did we know Russia had an atomic bomb?
When did we know Russia had a hydrogen bomb?
When did we know terrorists had the means to knock down two 110 story buildings?

Clouds on the horizon suggests it might rain. For you to do nothing because it isn't raining is unacceptable. With people willing to die to kill us, I choose to plan for the events which I hope never come. Responsible people plan for the worst case scenario. You are wanting to plan for the 2004 election.

Since you are unwilling to plan for the possibility a rogue nation lobbing a ballistic missile at us, how do you suggest we proceed if your hunch is dead wrong? There may probably be nothing to do but surrender.

Not to scare you anymore, but hopefully to add to your education, if we do get into a shooting match with a rogue nation, are you betting China or Russia or another nation will not join the battle? Hitler bet the farm on his hunch the United States would not enter WWII.

What you don't know can kill you. How many people died of AIDS before it was discovered and documented?

Steve

Japan is easy. Alaska is in range. Hawaii might be or will be soon. Give it another decade and its CA, and 2 decades probably NY.

SDI is useless against NK.

It could protect Japan, and Southern South Korea (Northern South Korea is too close). And it protects us against NK's aggressive expansion of its capabilities. This expansion has been going on for years and continues as I type.
