The Saudis have more combat aircraft and better pilots than the Iraqis. I didn't know that before this discussion, but their relative military strengths are up on the web. Iraq is fairly pitiful. That's why it couldn't beat Iran, even when Iran was sending children to the battlefront (AND Iraq had our "help" at the times as well). There was an interesting article about that, back when the way was being fought. I think I may have saved it. If I can find it, I will give you the title and date of the article.
