How conveniently you forget that Clinton did not discuss balancing the budget (in earnest) with those tax hikes. He wanted to Nationalize health care. Forget about that?

It's the Gingrich Congress that thwarted him, and that was confirmed by Clinton's repudiation by the electorate in '94. Bush, on the other hand, was reinforced by the electorate in '02.
