The thing that "made" the Limeliters was their harmony. I will never forget being at a afternoon "Reunion" concert of theirs in, of all places, The San Diego Wild Animal Park in the '80s. Yarborough opened with an introduction and talked about how wonderful it was to be back with them, and how much he enjoyed it because they sounded so good together. They then knocked the crowd out with their standard opening number, which I have never heard anybody else approach, "There's a Meeting Here tonight." It is an old Negro Spiritual, and these lyrics are as close as I can come to the way they sang it.
