And why did the price of oil go up? One hint, two former oil CEO's in the White House who needed high oil prices to justify more drilling, and who want their cronies to reap tens of billions while they can. Even the Venezuelan situation is rumored to have been started by the US oil companies and their CIA friends. Bushies all. The phony energy crisis and the War On Iraq also drive up oil prices. Bush could make bringing down oil prices a priority and get it done if he wanted, but that's the last thing he wants. The higher the better as far as they're concerned. One reason the Bush four years will have three recessions and leave the greatest government debt ever recorded, having started with a surplus. The cost of energy is a hidden tax all Americans are paying now. The government pays it too. And the Bushies are also advocating inefficiency and waste. They killed the Kerry-McCain effiency bill and they're actively fighting the SUV gas guzzler awareness campaign. Yet another way they pick our pockets while promising us a chicken in every pot and hydrogen cars 20 years from now when we could make it easily in 8-10 years.
