The US gov't and citizens don't take the benefit you suggested, I guess facetiously. The profiteers gain enormous profits from involvement in handing out those contracts. Yes, Bush is indeed in it for the oil, among other profiteering and domestic political benefits. To say this Oil-based administration does not count oil as a primary factor is blind. There are literally trillions in oil wealth to be handed out and profited from.

Neither US social security nor national security, as you suggest, benefit.

You are grossly uninformed.....we are, in fact, Iraq's best customer buying fully 50% of their output,ie about 800K barrels/day.. France buys much less than that.....
Why don't you ask Jr. why he supports Saddams weapons programs by buying his oil????
