saw it about 20 minutes after it happened
when i was getting out of the shower. had
about a 15 minute drive to work to think
about it. there's a lot of sadness we're
all already carrying because of the state
of human affairs - this is one of those
"last straw" type triggers that can break
the heart - make you lose composure.

i was all alone in the truck but i could
feel a lot of people's hearts breaking and
egos collapsing. (mine included)

i just wanted to say... it's ok to break
down. it's a courageous thing.
the first step to healing.

we have been exposed to so much
horror and death and destruction
over the years.

headlines in the paper every day about
serial killers, child molesters,
senseless beatings of the elderly,
suicide bombers, war.

we're been inundated with photographs
of the dead and dying. of the mutilated
and savaged bodies of innocents lying in
heaps.

man's inhumanity to man has become commonplace.

it dulls the senses.

sad to say, but i've become inured to it all.
