I'm not so sure, at 200,000 ft, I'm not sure that the shuttle is using control surfaces yet. It may still be utilizing reaction control jets still. But, I'm not sure.

FOX news announced debris has been found in Texas!
This reminds me of when the shuttle blew up with the teacher on board.

My son was a senior in high school, and home sick. I woke him and told him the shuttle had blown up. He told me I didn't know anything about shuttles, they had just gone through our atmosphere...It took me forever to convince him, it really had exploded while I was watching it.

Everyone expects the shuttles to go into space with no hitches...this is another tragic demonstration, that it is a very dangerous job.
