There are emergency procedures in place to rescue the three left behind at the station. An Russian emergency escape vehicle, I think.

Shouldn't be a problem provided the vehicle is in good shape and the three left behind are competent to pilot it.

whole "Space Station" effort is now up in air. There has been a lot of muted opposition to it anyway.

I've argued from the start that it was a waste of money. We could have sent a whole team to Mars on the money blown on that albatross.
