We dont want California's coast to turn into Texas's Gulf Coast, one of the most sadly damaged and polluted shorelines in the world. Instead, we want it to get better not worse. And we're willing to conserve, pay a little more for clean energy and do whatever it takes. Problem is, we have almost no public transport, so we all need cars. That problem is rooted back 50 years ago before California knew it had a problem. But we're ready to buy cleaner more efficient cars and things have gotten better not worse, at least in terms of air pollution. Determined efforts have paid off. And that adds to quality of life, real estate value and public health. If Bill Simon were to have taken over, these environmental advances would suffer a major setback.
