Were it truly anything like "aid and friendship" that would be one thing.
It is involvement and commitment in a blood-feud between centuries-old sworn mortal enemies. That is nothing like "friendship". That is becoming another of the sworn enemies. To do that, you must justify and accept their feud. I've been there and seen that first hand. As an American and as a human, I condemn the irrational, murderous blood-feuds of others, and only am willing to support the only course of action that makes sense, that of an honest broker, that does NOT engage in clandestine/covert operations or military support of either side.

The actions we see are only beneficial to furtherance of warlords and commercial interests.
