"Gutted" military? Excuse me, but prior to Clinton we had the biggest military build-up in history, and collosal debt to pay off partly because of it. Base closings etc were bi-partisan issues. Republicans were scrambling to cut spending on the military too. And we were not at war, nor were there any big threats looming. In fact except for a few hot spots the world was at peace for 8 years. Why spend deficit financing if you dont have a targeted threat to counter? Clinton did however raise military pay. You didn't hear anyone complaining until Bush started running and lied telling us an entire division was not ready for duty. All the generals denied that right away, but Bush got the spin in. -- And big military guy Bush, the AWOL kid. What a hypocrite he is. Things will be different when Kerry is President. We'll have a guy who actually knows how the military is run, exactly what they need and dont need and who is a champion of veterans rights.

As I predicted, Bush now reports record deficits ahead for 5 years at least. His new budget. Look out below in the markets.
