Is it possible Bush could push this country into recession by going to war right now...?

1. We're already effectively in a recession. It has only been the extraordinarily "accomodative" monetary policy of the Fed that has prevented it from becoming "official".. (Hence the recent decline in the US Dollar).

2. War is inflationary, not recessionary. It is what actually shocked the US economy out of its post-depression malaise in 1939.

3. If the US goes into official recession, the rest of the world will suffer even more.

If you disagree with this, please provide us all an example where a war has ever created a recession in the US...
