Questionable - If it's accurate, they are certainly not innocent -- but a reading of covert help for bin Laden by Saudis and US intel doesn't mean there weren't others who were much more capable, giving them ideas, and maybe more.

It's easier to blame America

Peter Maass misstates here, falling for the usual GOP perversion of the language.

The "''intellectuals in the Brzezinski crowd and . . . the special warfare crowd in the Pentagon,'' are decidedly NOT America. Blaming them is NOT the same as "blaming America".

By virtue of their constant need for secrecy and deception of the American public, a good argument can be made that they are more anti-American than anything.
