clappy-

Anyhow he had a small hole drilled in it
big enough to put the diamond engagement ring. He plugged
it up with a cork and presented her with it.

what a romantic fellow - your cousin is
one lucky girl me thinks.

the beaches of oregon and vancouver island and
the queen charlottes used to be littered with these
floats. beachcombers would take their wheelbarrows
with them in order to carry their loot back.
apparently there is a "necklace" of glass balls
floating in one area of the pacific (sailors
often come upon them in the doldrums) just
waiting for a storm to carry them to shore.

i've got a few that i bought at junk stores and
garage sales - the sellers not realizing their
value now. but the one i found, is the best.

that's a barbecue behind me on the boat. it
comes in really handy when we're anchored -
especially if we're lucky enough to catch a
low tide and pick up some oysters. just throw
them on the barbie till they pop open, add a
little hot sauce - hmmhmmm!

how was the wake clappy? where there lots
of good stories and memories about uncle
jerry? lots of laughs? laughter is
important at wakes don't you think?

rose

He could have presented it to her while wearing his new
found thong.

...they take a bit of getting used to.
he probably would have found it irritating <g>
