I am just saddened that people settle for reactionary solutions when visionary solutions based upon science and humanity would serve us much better. The word choice of "misfit" is diagnostic. To what do we not fit - your opinionated personal standards and beliefs? I'm simply against extremism.

Really, who here seems more angry, grim and humorless...?

Reactionary - n.
Characterized by reaction, especially opposition to progress or liberalism

Reactionary viewpoints are backward looking by definition. That's the "reaction" part of reactionary. They are having a reaction to the way things are and want to run from progress. Conservative has a similar backward and static implication.

Conservative - n.
1. Favoring traditional views and values; tending to oppose change
