Hey, hydrogen is a much more powerful fuel than gasoline. SUV's would go 200 MPH on thws stuff. We use it to send out rockets into space. And it's exhaust is water. Even Bush agrees, he's just not going to do anything about it personally since he's in the pockets of big oil and big gas guzzler manufacturers. Proof being his fight against the Kerry-McCain fuel efficiency bill. The hydrogen fuel program, when it's really done seriously, will be a revolutionary thing. It is not a partisan issue except for the fact we have a big oil ticket in the White House. And it will pay for itself over time. That said, more technological innovations need to be achieved before it's ready to be deployed. Unlike those who deploy SDI before it's ready, we need to make sure hydrogen cars and infrastructure work first. Bottomline though we must try, and try quickly. But drive whatever you like, just be aware that oil = blood these days. If not for oil dependency there would be no Saddam or Bin Lauden. That you cannot debate. Read Bin Lauden's speeches. They are all about our thirst for oil and our occupation of the Muslim holy lands. As evil as he is, Bin Lauden's message sells on the Arab street because in that respect he is right. How would you like Arab troops outside your city because they want to secure our farmer's crops, for instance? Plus, we pay through the nose for oil these days. Not just 34 bucks a barrel but in terms of military, public health and pollution costs. Reality wake up call of 9-11. If you want real freedom let's get off Arab oil first, then all foreign oil. But we cannot do that by drilling more at hgome. We can only do that by REPLACING oil.
