I agree with all of your observations.

I am unconvinced that terrorist acts by sleeper cells do not pose a danger no matter what happens in Iraq.

Absolutely and definitively. In the same vein some people think that we can mitigate those terrorist attacks on our soil by having the approval of the united nations before taking any military action against Iraq. What a joke! Imo there is nothing that these terrorists understand except brute force and power. There is nothing that we can do to mitigate their hatred for the U.S. and Israel. Because of this we are left with little else to do but to defend ourselves. Unfortunately there is no chance for success in appeasement. We've already learned that lesson.
