But I agree... none of that means anything, and it's not why I'm interested in Gold as an investment.

I'm interested because it is what it is and is 'acting' as it always has. So this is reality... and one can think of a million reasons why it should be relegated to the compost heap of history either now or in the future, but that's just thinking. Reality is it hasn't been as of now.
