That's a nice correlation Eugene, but this one from a statistical standpoint is even stronger...

if one is playing a pairs strategy, which is similar to trading on arbitrage, you would like for a correlation that is even stronger than the 79% that the $SPX is showing relative to 1969-1970. nonetheless, if so many were playing the 'retrace', what would they say with the above overlay which indicates significant downside approaching?

The way I see it based on that chart we are going higher..Carpino doesnt think so..see my next post..
