You can see that Clinton hardly touched military spending. He raised military salaries dramatically which was, as I said, due to his excellent boom economy where too many soldiers were leaving for the private sector and better paying jobs. That became a major national security issue. Other than that we were in no imminent danger from any military attacks, just terrorism.


Notice the lack of response to your post..........they try so hard to make Clinton look bad but the facts don't support their opinions. When it comes to defense, the truth is Clinton did the dirty work that the GOP could never do.....closing and mothballing excess bases and military equipment. By the early 90s, there had been so much pork the prior 100 years, each state had at least 3 or 4 military bases.....whole cities had grown up around these bases.......talk about an expensive surplus.

This kind of cutting the GOP would not even consider.......it would cause them to cry in their sleep. <g>
