I'm in Oregon, yes, but I mostly think of myself as a Californian. Jacksonville is just east of Medford, Ashland area. The Jacksonville Inn has resident ghosts. I'm only familiar with those authors through the history channel, but I've been fascinated by Egyptian history as well. Did you know that it's been discovered there must have been trade between South Americans and the Egyptians. Cocoa and tobacco indigenous only to South America has been found to have been used by ancient Egyptians. It's been said it's pompous to believe that our earth has the only life. But maybe it's naive to believe that the earth has seen great civilizations with amazing technological advances rise and fall here on earth. The pyramids are a small piece of the amazing puzzle that is humanity. IMO.
