You put too much faith in Diplomacy AT THIS STAGE OF THE GAME, I think we are beyond that. What do you expect NATO to do to Hussein ? Shake fingers at him and say 'you naughty naughty boy - STOP THAT or we will get really REALLY mad !'. Guess what ? Been there. I kinda wish the USA would stop ALL support both Financially and Militarily of everyone outside of our borders except for those that support us 100%. You scratch my back and I will scratch yours. You have a differing opinion than ours, let's discuss it and see if it merits, maybe we will see what you see. We intervened and diplomacized Nelson Mandela out of prison, look what he says about us. Yes, he has a right to say what he wants, and now he kills us ? I have no problem saying we are our own worst enemy. Look what NAFTA did for us, among other things, lately. It did wonders for the bottom line of large companies, which made for some really nice golden parachutes, but that's just my opinion. Folks in the USA just have no clue how the rest of the world views us, especially the Middle East, and they don't care. I don't care either, to an extent, but you better understand what our forces are up against, this is NOT like Kuwait, and it is NOT about OIL. There are pockets of people, such as Al Queda, that will do about anything to kill us. They will do/buy/make whatever they can to do it. IRAQ just happens to be about the only place that has the technology to make what they want. And I bet you think you are safe, and always will be. There were 3,300 in NY that i'd bet did NOT wake up on 9/11 and think to themselves 'today is the day I will die'. I am not fooling myself, I am not paranoid about it, but I also know that none of us are 'safe' anymore, and never will be.
