OT: I too find it amazing and frightening how quickly people want to end freedom of speech as soon as someone points out the emporer has no clothes. On another message board I had someone threaten to use a softball bat on me for posting my view that the space program is a waste. I don't know maybe you worked for the government too. I worked for the government and also for a military contractor. I saw waste and mismanagement on a scale difficult to imagine. I don't even think the space program should end... it should just focus on a means of propulsion other than fossil fuel, the success of which would also eliminate our need to invade Iraq.

For instance, on this thread we have bunch of folks who invoke the fiction of a "God" to try to help them comprehend what is essentially an engineering problem. As opposed to the folks who invoke the fiction of hilarious, disjointed conspiracy theories to help them comprehend and rationalize financial markets, economic and political trends, etc.? LPS5
