The only "Fly in the Ointment" is the Crew. Did you see the PBS documentary on it? They are convinced it was deliberate. It is human nature to believe that those who harm you, do so deliberately. I find Oren's arguments conclusive. If the Israelis had wanted the ship sunk, it would have been sunk. Instead they broke off fire and began offering assistance. And nobody has been able to concoct even a semi-credible motive for why Israel should have wanted to sink a ship of their biggest ally. It was a screw-up, that's all. Screw-ups happen, especially after a few days of combat.
