The largest accountancy firms could find themselves in
trouble with U.S. regulators over disclaimers they are adding
to audited financial statements of companies in the U.K. The
Securities and Exchange Commission is closely studying
developments in the U.K. where accounting firms have been
adding riders to their audit opinions at the bottom of
financial statements saying that only companies' shareholders
can rely on their work.
