Right from the first scene, Nicholson's understated spare performance....I thought was genius. It was a perfect vehicle to allow one to sit back and watch him work. He must be on screen in over 95% of the film.

The mullet boy son in law killed me, everyone knows someone just like that.

It did end suddenly but I liked it...he was pondering some deep questions, got an answer.....

I thought the narrative of him reading letters to Ngudu was just fantastic...that element of story telling was brilliant.
