Yes. As the demand for our imports increase so does the demand for our dollars, you must buy dollars in order to buy our goods, and the value of the dollar rises once again. This is basically why the trade deficit is in some sense self-correcting and, imo, is a number that receives too much attention. You are one of the few on SI that seems to have an understanding of economics.
