John, thanks for checking. I just wanted a sanity check because SIA usually compares to the prior month - not this time. WW chip shipments are now available charted from SIA sia-online.org

That chart shows that sales declined slightly from Nov to Dec '02. That's because the SIA Nov'02 number was raised from the original 12.68 to 12.83

Was this report already posted... I don't remember anything saying "strong growth ahead" for semis, maybe this is just businessweek spin.
