yeah -- saw that -- you're expecting a bump from Powell's speech. you buy puts or short, sell calls or all three? what's your strategy? What would you do if some "exogenous" event lit them on fire?? Hold and wait for things to settle down or take the hit and get out?? there is one similarity, IMO, to shorting internuts -- you can easily get your head handed to you if you are wrong. Do you look at this as simply a trade of a correction or that gold miners are just finished??

Platinum went from 350 to 600 in 1999 with commercials record short at 350. Just a thought, a scary one -g- "War premium" thing is out there, along with comparisons to 1991 Gulf war. So maybe there is no war premium? -g- Note that in 1991, gold was in bear market, unlike today. US of A is about to enter Phase II of the market collapse, Argentinian style. You can make a plot of gold in Russian roubles for 1998 on this site -g-: pacific.commerce.ubc.ca

Tony, Better hope for Da Boys to come in quick in the morning, or all shorts will go up in smoke. Who said it was to cold to be wearing shorts. The mail guys and gals still have them on. But they could go up in smoke (postal) any day. Good luck on your short covering. I think I have a snow suit in the closet if it gets to bad! Terry

you could probably add today -- maybe it IS a day early -- that happens sometimes when a lot of folks are anticipating something?? just a thought ... don't get me wrong. I'm a nervous long.
