Republicans are alleging that Davis is overestimating the size of California's projected deficit.

Whereas Democrats are saying Bush is underestimating the deficit, as he has every single projection.

And Bush's budget doesn't include the cost of an Iraq war.

So, if this metric has any value (and it doesn't), California is outperforming the nation when it comes to budget deficits.
