Look Victor that is just plain stupid.
We were there. In IRAQ, fully loaded, his troops on the run.
How much easier would it be to get forgiveness for stretching the mandate to capuring Hussein. We had a mandate to be in Iraq but no mandate for his capture but would anyone really have cared at the time? Now you want to gun sling it when we do not have any mandate for anything!
You are the one being two faced not me. If the mandate was so important we have no business being there at all right now. I am suggesting the mandate was had WAS AS GOOD AS IT EVER WAS GOING TO GET! To not take advantage of that is stupid!

We had support from Arab nations, the UN, and most of the rest of the world for our actions. We even had Arab troops. Would anyone really have cared (or cared much if we took out Hussein).

Give me a break!
No! We wait umpteen years, when we have no support for war in the UN, none from the Arab countries, and in fact 70% of the US does not want war but does want more inspections. Anyone how does not see how totally stupid this is is totally hopeless.

No, stupid Bush #I was worried about Iran taking over in a power vacuum or some other horsesh*t. What we should have done is clear and I said it at the time:

Take out Hussein (if captured turn him over to Kuwait for trial) thereby making what to do with him an Arab problem insted of a US problem. Let Kuwait and the Arab states decide on the fate of the government of Iraq with perhaps a US veto.

That would have solved the whole damn mess and it was so so obvious, and do you really think the Arabs objetced to letting them decide how to handle aftermath?

No.......
We have to do it NOW when Baby Bush dfoes not even have the support of his own people.

If that is not utterly stupid what is?
