Columbia had gone up less then 1/3rd of the amount of times it was rated for.

A lot of airplanes were older then Columbia


Thanks for the link.......it was a long one. <g>

Yeah, they're saying that its looking more and more like the tiles got hit one too many times with debris from the rockets on liftoff. Unfortunately, its also sounding like NASA and the astronauts are getting maybe a little too blasé. They made little effort to check the shuttle's damage in space, claiming it was too difficult and time consuming nor did they take the steps during re-entry that might have mitigated some of the problem.
