True conservatives are consistent. I would say that Mother Teresa was a true conservative -- she was opposed to abortion as well as to the death penalty, for instance. I have nothing but the deepest respect for true conservatives even if I disagree with them. It is the phony ones -- quoting the Pope when it comes to anti-abortion, but ignoring him when dealing with the death penalty, that are so irksome. Btw, I heard that Bush's personal priest is against the Iraq war. A lot of church leaders are against it too, but the phony "conservatives" don't quote religious texts and religious figures when it doesn't suit them.
