No Cheney doesn't lie ALL the time, he just lies through his tetth about this as he lied about the energy crisis and Mohammed Atta in Prague.

So call it a lie, have it proven to be true and then say "it doesn't matter he lied other times..."

I can't think of any lies from him about energy although some statements about the future where shown to be very incorrect. I guess his crystal ball was rusty. As for Atta or other Al Qaida in Prague this is the most likely to be a lie out of anything that I have seen someone accusing Cheney of lying about because he said somethign that now appears to be false, but lacking any way of determining if he knew it was false and lacking a proven history of him being a liar I would give Cheny the benefit of the doubt and just say he was wrong not a liar.

My main point wasn't about Cheny anyway but rather about the reduction in the size of our military.

And remember, base closings started under Bush Sr and during the
Clinton era we had no clear and present dangers from anywhere other than tinpots, so why spend away?

Oh I agree a lot of the reduction was a good idea. We didn't need quite as big of miltiary post cold war. I just think it went to far. Also the point was to show that big reductions did occur weather or not they where a good idea, not just the 6% that you where talking about.
