what do you think the chances are that his photo is a fake?

My thoughts are that there would need to be a window behind the back of the wing for this to be the trailing side of the wing. This seems unlikely to me considering where the trailing end of the wing is.

And if it isn't the trailing end of the wing, then the photo is very clearly of the starboard wing, not port (left). And since it is digital to digital, there is no photo-optical inversion.
