Unfortunately, part of the gender disparity is that Black men are more still the victim of racial discrimination than Black women. This though is only part of the problem. Serious social problems exist in Black culture and I think Black rap gives testimony to some of the social and marital disfunction. Some of the family disfunction can be can be attributed to slavery, where people were bred like cattle and family units were indiscriminately broken up for profit. Much has been done in the attempt to elevate Blacks as a group, but little has been done to help restore their family unity and unfortunately again, family unity and marriage are deteriorating in all ethic groups of our society. * * *
