Yes, the similarities are striking. Too bad they are in the past where it doesn't do me much good.

Charting as a predictive art eludes me. No matter how hard I look, I see down followed by up and up followed by down. Of course, if you draw figures I see them where you draw them, but also elsewhere either in miniature or in part "about to be". Sort of like that ink-blot test they give to figure out what pre-conceived ideas lurk in the subconscious.

I suppose I could make the case for seeing historical volatility driving the price to oscillate about a slowly declining base line. But since that is what I expect, perhaps it's easier for me to see than the converse. Dunno.
