It's not that there is anything wrong with 8086 technology built for those times, but it does show us how "ancient" the shuttles truly are compared to what could be done today if we built new ones from the ground up with the latest technology and designs.

The Space Shuttle looked good in the 1970s, but then so did my 1977 Aspen station wagon! And my old 286-16 computer was great in 1989 too.... (hint-hint, wink-wink)
