<Greed and human need are the only money human race knows. Time has nothing to do with money. >

Marek, if time has nothing to do with money, why do so many people demand a certain hourly rate to perform a job. Hire a plumber and it's so much per hour. Hire a lawyer and it's even more per hour.

People tend to know how many hours they have worked. I imagine you have heard the expressions:

Clock watcher.
Punching in.
Punching out.
"God, I'm working 60 hours a week".
"I can't wait for Friday".
Working 9 to 5.
40 hour week.
1 hour lunch break.
Get to work on time.

There might even be some more time-related references to work.

People also tend to know how much money they get at work. Sometimes people have been known to ask for a raise. That's because they think they should get paid more for what they are doing. They want more money. They also want a shorter working week.

I don't subscribe to your other two theories either.

>>Time has nothing to do with money. << ... Hey, but it makes such a nice story. And Maurice the Omniscient just needs to drop a hint and he baits another couple of blue-eyed discussioneers, who are still ready to chase some Q butterflies. Lately, however, it was getting tougher to get them (a dying breed?)
