Yah, it would... But I tend to agree with the theory that there is no way to account for the sequence of dropouts and temperature rises based on wing tiles, missing or otherwise. Now if the scorching heat reached a tire and the tire blew, that would be a different matter!!! It could have blown out through the wheel well and turned the inside of that wing into an inferno in a couple of seconds which would have accounted for the rise in fuselage temperature...
