Yes, Bill. I remember "Black September" perfectly well, and if SI search worked, I'd dig up my own posts on it. That doesn't mean that the "Jordan is the Palestinian state" line doesn't still have a residual following in Israel. Of course, Golda Meir's line "There are no Palestinians" is probably due for a revival too, I think Nadine's been floating that one lately. Next up : "transfer".

With all due respect, LB, but Win is on to something here. Stretching the neocon's ideology into a corollary to include Jordan as the final settlement for the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip is really falling into the realm of fantasy. Why not just give away Iraq to Israel while we are playing Pax Americana? Wouldn't that be the ultimate unilateral act of defiance by the supreme superpower in the world? That sure would solve many of the post-invasion dilemmas as well as create some new ones.

Such visions border the same pathology which have inflicted members of al-Qaida.
