Marek, a person agreeing to work for some rate is not a slave. That's an abuse of the word. They are not time slaves. Of course voluntary action is better than force. That's because free will is the essential ingredient.

Yes, it's true that you can hire a contractor at a fixed price to do a job, but they calculate how many hours they have to work to do the job. They use time as their primary measurement. They charge what the market will bear, per hour. So that you can not worry about whether they'll be a good worker or not, they carry the risk on how long it'll take and quote you a total [usually with a bit of contingency in there in case there's a glitch and the job takes longer than expected].
