It's obvious to an outside observer. The religious right is the largest chunk. There could be atheists, agnostics etc. as well. Heck, there are some gay Republicans as well (though I can't understand why they're there in a party that is so homophobic... may be just for tax reasons!)

Religious influences in politics does not bother you because religion is generally based on universal truths and often very pragmatic.
