......."and another WTC-like shock to the domestic
economy....... this epidemic of delusion among the American
public is more scarey than any Saddam Hussein or Osama
BedLinen"....

Prior to 9/11, no one would have given given serious thought to the hijacking of at least 4 domestic airliners to be used in an attempt to slaughter tens of thousands of innocent civilians on US soil....... yet certain media types (And certain individuals with clear agendas) would have us believe that the Bush Administration had sufficient info in advance of this attack to thwart it, but miserably failed to do so...... based on any number of conspiracy theories. Their spin & deceit was pounded at relentlessly.

They also spun all manner of stories against the War on terror..... including the military action in Afghanistan, etc..... intimating (often quite falsely) how pathetically Bush handled it..... falsely claiming the slaughter of tens of thousands of civilians (among other pathetic BS...... & how ineffective the results of our war on terrorism was/is.

Since then that same media (And certain individuals with clear agendas) have been hammering away daily in their attempts to thwart any military action to disarm Iraq by spinning all manner of lame excuses & deceit. They would have us believe that Iraq is no threat whatsoever........ regardless of the mountain of irrefutable facts that prove otherwise (buy they never mention these facts while they relentlessly spin & spin & spin their deceitful fables). They would have us believe that disarming Iraq is in no way part of the war on terror, instead claiming that it is wasting resources that could be used elsewhere, again ignoring all facts that refute their deceitful spin machine.

Funny how they claim Bush had mountains of knowledge prior to 9/11 & failed to act properly...... and when Bush releases mountains of facts showing the real & present danger Iraq presents, they find a way to either ignore it or downplay it in order to diminish him in the public's eye.

Considering that most people are sheep (look at the countless millions who have been slaughtered in the stock market lately....... mice elf included)...... it is no wonder that the public in general is so completely clueless to what is really happening....... they just buy the BS that is spoon fed to them relentlessly by those with an agenda...... rather than think for themselves....... or heaven forbid..... actually make any serious attempt to take it upon themselves to separate fact from fiction.

"we have lost touch with reality, even as we are
gullible and easily sold any story whatsoever, as long as
it is politically correct and serves the greater good
motive"

Yup, we are sheep....... and just like the sheep who followed the pack in the bursting stock market bubble, perhaps this flock will be led to slaughter by those spin meisters.

But no worries, it will be spun into a fable that it was totally the fault of the Bush Administration....... regardless of the facts.

OOF Ö¿Ö

The American public's total confidence that they can win any war quickly at very little cost reminds of the misplaced confidence of tech stock investors a few years ago.

What if US troops meet stiff resistance and suffer heavy casualties in Iraq? Then the Iraq rally almost everyone is expecting could turn into a full fledged crash even if we "win" in the end.

<this epidemic of delusion among the American public is more scarey than any Saddam Hussein or Osama BedLinen>

Jim
you got the nail right on the head ( as usual)
unfortunately most americans live in the illusions , there high standard of living will go on for ever, they have a god given right for the good life, ( too much talks of god anyway for my taste), but the pendulum goes it's ways......
